Adoptable Animals:
Kaiju
Leopard Gecko - 1.5 yrs old
55g • 6in
Adoption Fee: $50
Explorative • A little picky • Very explorative
Kaiju is a sweetheart who came to us in rough shape, underweight, stuck shed, abscesses, stomatitis, and impaction, all at just a year old. She’s been treated for everything, though she does still have swelling on her head that the vet still wasn’t able to diagnose. It doesn’t affect her quality of life, though we are monitoring it closely and if she shows ANY signs of decline it may need to be dealt with surgically. Her care is pretty typical with a few exceptions: no loose substrate and she can be a diva with food. She’s a wonderful gecko with a huge personality ready for her forever home.
Gravel
Leopard Gecko - ? yrs old (Adult)
62g • 8in
Adoption Fee: $50
Adult • Very curious • Great hunter
Gravel came to us with his brother Slate. The both of them were found in their tanks, abandoned on the side of the road. For the fact that they were abandoned, they are both in great shape. Slate has a few burns on his back and due this he is still on hold with us, though Gravel is honestly in perfect shape! He is a good weight, he is a great little hunter, he is friendly and handleable, although he is just a little shy and defensive when he sees hands reaching for him. He would definitely do best with someone who has extra gentle hands and patience for him when it comes to interaction.
Popcorn
Corn Snake - 9 yrs old
600g • 4.5ft
Adoption Fee: $75
Calm • Larger • Very handleable • Eats F/T
Popcorn is our newest corn, and he is an absolute joy! He is friendly, sweet, curious, and very calm! He loves hanging out outside of the tank and watching movies. He also loves exploring his enclosure and finding new ways to traverse his environment. He is a bit on the larger side as well, if you like a snake with a little size on him! He is overall an amazing snake. If you are looking for a great, calm and curious companion, apply to adopt Popcorn!
Sally
Corn Snake - 9 yrs old
350g • 3.5ft
Adoption Fee: $50
Eats F/T well • Super active • Very handleable
Sally is our most recent reptile mama, laying quite the clutch of infertile eggs. She is so sweet, super active, super explorative, and as long as you’re willing to keep up with her, she is super handleable. She was fed live most of her life but does great with F/T and does not hesitate. She loves to burrow, you can usually find her at the bottom of a thick layer of substrate. She is all you could ever ask for in a corn snake and more. Apply to adopt Sally today!
Sandpaper
Bearded Dragon - 8 months old
250g • 12in
Adoption Fee: $75
Food crazed • Very high energy • Juvenile
Sandpaper is a crazy dude and he LOVES to eat. He will leap out of his enclosure tongue first if he even thinks he sees a bug. He is super sweet and has absolutely no aggression, however he will bite fingers if he thinks you have food. For this reason we think he’d be best in a home experienced with beardies and up for the challenge. He is also quite silly and has been described as “spider-like” the way that he navigates the world! He is truly one of a kind.
Carnita
Asian Box Turtle - 14 yrs old
820g
Adoption Fee: $75
Omnivore • Semiaquatic • Shy at first but loves food
Carnita is one of our absolute favorites! Once she gets comfortable with you (and realizes you have food) she is the sweetest turtle in the world. She loves worms, dubias, veggies, and her dried shrimp treats. As an Asian Box Turtle she has very unique, semi-aquatic requirements, so please do your research ahead of time and be ready to give her the space and set up she needs to thrive. If you think you’re ready for Carnita, we’d love to hear from you!
Merp
African Bullfrog - 3 yrs old
600g
Adoption Fee: $75
(Adoption pending)
Chill • Requires tong feeding • Goofy
Merp is the silliest little guy you’ll ever meet. What he lacks in brains, he makes up for with his charming good looks and personality. He does struggle a bit getting food into his mouth, though this may be partially due to a vitamin deficiency that makes his tongue less sticky! He has shown improvement while with us, though he will require a home with lots of patience for tong feeding. If you are interested please reach out with questions or apply to adopt today!
Jeff
California Kingsnake - 3 yrs old
600g • 4ft
Adoption Fee: $75
(Adoption pending)
Curious • Goofy • Very handleable • Eats F/T
Jeff came to us infested with mites… but now he is parasite free and living his best life! He is a super explorative and curious little guy. He is friendly, not the least bit head shy, and loves spending time outside of the tank. He is also a great eater, very strong, and look at that handsome little face! Truthfully we want to hold onto him because we love having him around so much, but we’re excited for him to find an amazing forever home.
Mango
Crested Gecko - 3 yrs old
35g
Adoption Fee: $50
Curious • Active • Good eater
Mango is sweet and shy. He loves having space to play and explore. He loves crickets and gecko food purée. He does well with handling in short increments and with more time and patience will be a great companion. He is inquisitive and very nosy about happenings around him. We have observed a bit of defensiveness in him while cats walk near his tank and we recommend keeping him away from cats and cat litter boxes. Otherwise he is a great little guy! Apply to adopt Mango today.
Large Fry
Bearded Dragon - 3 yrs old
400g
Adoption Fee: $50
A bit defensive • Sweet • LOVES insects
Large Fry was surrendered to us due to aggression and fear for the original owner’s safety… We are happy to report that these days she is a very sweet and friendly dragon! Kindness, gentleness, and proper care can go a long way with these guys. She still has her moments of defensiveness and shyness, but NEVER aggression.
It has been a lot of work and patience to get her to this point, but we’re excited to see her find her forever home and continue her journey of trust and bonding.
Gary
Bearded Dragon - 1.5 yrs old
250g
Adoption Fee: $50
(On hold for medical observation until 12/29)
Mildly defensive • Sweet • Good eater • Crazy
Bio coming soon!
Goose
Leopard Gecko - (?) yrs old
(?)g
Adoption Fee: $50
Special Needs • Talkative • Good hunter
This is Goose! He was taken in early July 2025 with severe stuck shed, a broken leg and MBD. The shed was on so tight that his toes were raw and he ended up losing a few.. Due to his MBD he will always struggle to walk, but he is a fighter and a talker! (He croaks when he gets irritated) With some TLC his broken leg has healed and he is doing much better! Currently he does not need any medication, just keep a close eye on him since he is more susceptible to injuries because of his MBD. Even with all his hardships he loves hunting and is getting much better at climbing!
Hoping he finds the perfect home, he deserves a long vacation!
At Herp Habitat, our priority is placing animals in homes where they can thrive. To ensure this, all adoption requests are carefully reviewed. Please take a moment to read through our guidelines below. By submitting an application, you agree to these terms.
1. Our Right to Decline Applications
We reserve the right to deny any adoption application at our discretion. This includes applications we determine may present potential risks to the animal’s well-being—even if all answers appear technically correct. Our decision-making is always centered around the best interests of the animal.
2. Reevaluation of Approved Applications
Even after an application has been approved, we reserve the right to reverse that decision at any point prior to the transfer of ownership. As long as we maintain legal ownership of the animal, we are committed to ensuring the most suitable placement.
3. Non-Discrimination Policy
We do not and will never discriminate based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics. Our only concern is the quality of care the animal will receive.
4. Multiple Yellow Flags
We may deny an application based on a pattern of concerns—what we refer to as “multiple yellow flags.” Examples include vague or evasive answers, visible disinterest, signs of hostility, attempts to rush the process, or behavior that gives us reason to believe the animal may not be properly cared for.
5. Our Opposition to “Collections”
We prioritize individualized care and quality of life for every animal. Because of this, we typically do not adopt out to large reptile collections. High-volume environments can compromise care and lead to issues in the event that a change in life circumstances makes you unable to care for your animals.
6. Resubmitting After a Denial
If your application is denied, you may be invited to submit a revised application. However, please note that reversing a denial is uncommon and not guaranteed. We reserve the right to maintain a denied status even after resubmission.
7. Purpose of Adoption Fees
Adoption fees are not for profit. They exist to deter scammers, resellers, and those who may not be ready for the financial responsibility of pet ownership.
8. Fraudulent or Harmful Information
If we discover any intentionally falsified, misleading, or harmful information in your application, you will be permanently banned from adopting through us. We may also share this information with other rescues or animal welfare organizations to protect animals across the community.
